'Archiving the Future' Symposium: 27/28 February 2010

YFA is working in partnership with York St John University to host a symposium to explore emerging practices in the use of moving image, from film through to born-digital media.

'Archiving the Future' is aimed at archivists, producers, freelance filmmakers, editors, researchers, production assistants and screenwriters with an interest in how our visual media is and will be preserved.  The event will inform those within the field of archiving about emerging technologies which could affect the future of their work, but also those in production roles of future practices, which they may need to adopt as part of their practice.

There will be a range of seminars and lectures covering topics such as:

* Online archives

* Commercial exploitation, working with commercial partners

* Managing the public archive

* Emerging technologies and archiving the future

* The role of archiving in production workflow

* Digital asset management

For more information, view the flyer, and the symposium programme (both pdf).
