David Lascelles
David Lascelles is an independent producer of drama for television and the cinema. His television credits include the ever-popular Inspector Morse (for which he won a BAFTA for Best Television Series in 1991), Moll Flanders for Granada TV and Second Sight for the BBC. His cinema credits include the Richard Loncraine/Ian McKellen film of Shakespeare’s Richard III (as Line Producer) and The Wisdom of Crocodiles. He is currently developing an animated feature film, Grass Roots, aimed at “teenagers of all ages”. He is also Chairman of the Harewood House Trust and owner of the Harewood Estate. For the first time in 2007 he combined these roles with his production experience to bring the legendary theatre show Carnival Messiah back to Yorkshire for a two-week run in a big top in the grounds of Harewood, as part of the celebration of the bi-centenary of the Abolition of the Slave Trade. The production was filmed and will be released in 2008.
