21st century literacy
YFA are working in partnership with the Showroom Cinema on a pilot project as part of 21st Century Literacy – the UK Film Education Strategy. 21st Century Literacy is a national initiative that aims to ensure film education becomes an integral part of every young person’s life.
Led by Screen Yorkshire, the project combines professional development for educators in using film to support cross-curricular learning, with access to selected material from the Archive’s moving image collection via YFA Online.
21 educators from primary, secondary and lifelong learning institutions are part of the project, which is running from September 2009 to March 2010.
