UK Film Archive Forum
The Film Archive Forum represents all of the public sector film and television archives which care for the UK's moving image heritage. The site will give you an overview of the development of interest and support for the care of our moving image heritage, as well as direct links to the national and regional member organisations, and observer bodies. FIAF
The International Federation of Film Archives (FIAF) brings together institutions dedicated to rescuing films both as cultural heritage and as historical documents. Founded in Paris in 1938, FIAF is a collaborative association of the world's leading film archives whose purpose has always been to ensure the proper preservation and showing of motion pictures. Today, more than 120 archives in over 65 countries collect, restore, and exhibit films and cinema documentation spanning the entire history of film. Visit site
National Media Museum
The National Media Museum was founded in 1983 and is part of the National Museum of Science and Industry. It is located in Bradford and has more than three million items of historical, social and cultural value in its collection.
In the TV Heaven Gallery in the Museum you can see material from the YFA-led project, Putting You in the Picture (A History of Regional Television in Yorkshire). Visit site
BBC
In 2005 the BBC 2 six-part Nation on Film series examined social history across the UK through historic film and moving image. The programmes included material from the YFA collections with features on life in a York school during the 1950s; the poverty-stricken streets of Leeds during the same era; and rare footage of the arrival of some of the first Asian immigrants to Bradford. ITV Yorkshire
ITV Yorkshire's broadcasting includes the popular series, The Way We Were, looking at aspects of life in Yorkshire with footage from the Yorkshire Film Archive's collections together with interviews with donors and their families, memories of childhood, work, leisure and travel, as documented by amateur filmmakers from across the region. This research guide to the United Kingdom’s twelve public sector moving image archives presents detailed information on these fascinating and valuable film and television collections. Steps in Time
Through the Renaissance Partnership initiative, YFA has been working with Leeds Museums and Mojomedia to create a contemporary filmed history of the story of dance in Leeds. This website is a 'sneak-peek', where you can view some snippets of footage that will form part of eight films to be shown in the new Leeds City Museum in September 2008. Visit site
