film shows and screenings
We show programmes throughout the year to local community groups across Yorkshire. Venues range from village halls, local meeting rooms, pubs and restaurants, through to museums, libraries, art galleries and cinemas. Where these are open to the general public they will be listed under our events information.
If you're part of a group looking to book one of our film shows, please contact Ruth Patman, by phone (01904 876550) or email, in the first instance, to check our availability. Bookings do need to be made well in advance. Once a provisional booking is made, you can download our confirmation booking form here and return it by post or email.
Shows are given on week days and evenings, from September through to June. Yorkshire Film Archive presentations cover over 100 years of Yorkshire life on film; where possible, we will try to include some footage that is local to you. If you have any special requests, we'll do our best to accommodate you.
The shows generally run for between 60 – 90 minutes, and can include an interval if you would like one.
The charge for a film show is a standard fee of £50, plus the cost of our travel, plus VAT. This is subsidised by our funders, Screen Yorkshire and Yorkshire Forward.
It may sometimes be possible to put together a tailor-made film show on a particular topic. In these cases, the charge is £125, plus the cost of our travel, plus VAT. If this is something that you're interested in, please do contact us for further information.
